Job description

As a Master you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel and its crew in order to achieve the desired commercial and operational objectives. You will prepare the voyages and the projects, and you will ensure that the vessel is manoeuvred and navigated safely and efficiently. You will manage the crew so they know their responsibilities and are able to perform them to the best of their abilities. You will create a good atmosphere, and strive for harmony, order, and cleanliness on board to ensure that a hygienic and pleasant working environment is achieved.

Job requirements

  • Certificate of Competency; Master (no limitations)
  • Knowledge about inspections such as Port State Control
  • People manager who leads, motivates, inspires, and encourage people
  • Good communication and social skills
  • Experience with sailing under icy conditions is an advantage
  • A good knowledge of English, both spoken and written
  • Good knowledge of ISO/ISM regulations
  • Practical computer experience in Word and Excel
