(SEEMP) reducing CO2 emissions

05 December 2011

In November 2011 MFG started to develop a Shipboard Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP) and establish an Energy Efficiency Operational Indicator (EEOI) on her ten Bro tankers. MFG promotes this ‘environment friendly, next generation project’ with a proactive approach. MFG is involved in the development  and introduction of technologies to reduce CO2 emissions.

All seagoing vessels over 400 tons from 1 January 2013 must have a Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP) on board. New construction vessels are also required, as from that date,  to an Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) on board.

The development and implementation of a Shipboard Engergy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP) for all ship types, starting with our tanker fleet, marks a major step forward in our environmental initiatives.
