Naming ceremony of Wolfgang K. in China
23-04-2026 - Last week, the naming ceremony of the new vessel Wolfgang K. took place in China.
The event marked an important milestone in the Alstership fleet renewal programme, with Wolfgang K. being the latest of four new vessels joining the fleet. It reflects a structured and long-term investment in modern tonnage and continued fleet development.
The ceremony in China offered a different, but impressive experience compared to what we are used to in Northern Europe and the North of the Netherlands, where we are familiar with the sideways launch of vessels. The naming ceremony had a more formal and traditional character, creating a strong sense of occasion. Please see the video for an impression of the event.
